Captain's Log, stardate 2.14.2013:

It has come to the Captain's attention that someone has taken advantage of Starfleet's recent negligence of this group and has submitted art unrelated to the focus of the group. This user has been blocked and the items have been removed. However, the Captain reminds all crew members that this is Data-Fans; all artwork submitted to the group must feature Data or any member of the Soong family. Anyone caught breaking the group rules will be thrown in the brig.

Also, the Captain would like to extend her wish that all crew members have a happy Valentine's Day!

Captain's Log, Stardate 28.12.2011:

As the new Captain, I have been contemplating undergoing important retrofitting to Data-Fans beginning with the new year. Included in this plan is new subfolders to the group gallery by artistic medium and subject matter.

As the opinions of the crew is important to me, please feel free to suggest other improvements to the club!
Captain on deck!

Greetings! I am MasterPlanner, the new Captain (or Founder) of the group known as Data-Fans. I have taken over this position from your former Captain, Sonaos, who has decided for reasons of her own to request a transfer. However, she will still be serving this group as a Contributor.

Engage!

Previous Captain's Log -

I, Sonaos, have decided to step down from command of Data-Fans.  I'm so proud that my staff, crew(members) and I were able to revive this group after I took command.  I couldn't have done it without you guys!

My main and only reasons for resigning are that I'm not sure where else to take Data-Fans, I don't have the resources or will to do greater things for the group, and that I'm trying to quit deviantART.  Somewhat, anyway.  I just feel I haven't been doing my part as found- erm, captain, and that I should give someone else the big chair.

I still plan to remain a contributor, however.  I still want to be part of Data-Fans, but I'm fine not being in command.

Thanks everyone!  Live long and prosper!
Edit: The problem has been fixed for a while now, but I forgot to update.  Tee hee.  Thanks for all your help!

Anyway, I hope you all had Happy Holidays, and may your New Year be splendid as well!

For the life of me, I can't figure out why the new staff members can't accept deviations into the group.  They're part of contributors, which is a step below Co-Founder.

Here are the settings I currently have set for the contributors: i101.photobucket.com/albums/m6…

I'm probably overlooking something, but I have no idea what.  Thanks.
There was a slight problem with adding submissions to the club, as well as joining the club.  I believe it is fixed now, so go ahead and try to submit your art if you were trying to before.

And as for our staff positions, they've now been filled!  Now it won't be inaccurate for me to say "we'll take care of it" like I use to do when it was just me running the club. =P  And, of course, more mature submissions will be able to be viewed and accepted of course.  Please welcome the following to the staff:

Throgmorten
MasterPlanner

Welcome aboard, Commanders!

And there's one more thing I wanted to run by the members.  For months now, I've been thinking it would be cool to have an official starship for the club.  Now, technically, our mascot would be Data and the others, but this leaves me a Captain without a starship(unless you count one of my fan made ships, the Deltacross, but that's for roleplay purposes =P).

So, since I'm able to create a spiffy looking starship via Star Trek Online, I was wondering if we should have a design contest to create and name a Federation starship for the club.  It would most likely be a multi-step process for choosing the ship, textures, patterns, and name and registry.  Those who have Star Trek Online could slap something together and send it in, and for those who don't, I would give them enough information so that I could make it for them.  Or if people prefer, we could just draw it or something.  Then there would be a voting process to determine which starship is chosen.

I would release more details once I get an approval for the idea, so tell me what you think!  Does Data-Fans need it's own starship?  Should it be made in Star Trek Online or should it be a hand-drawn contest?  Comment here to express your opinions!
